About
John Carr-Hartley is the Managing Partner of Armstrongs. In addition, John is the Partner in charge of Armstrongs’ Litigation and Arbitration Department and conducts the bulk of the litigation for the Practice in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Industrial Court. John also conducts Arbitration work for the Practice, particularly in the fields of Civil Engineering and Building disputes.
John has more than 30 years of experience as a Litigation Attorney in Botswana. He is regarded as one of the most experienced Litigation Attorneys in Botswana, and his litigation and arbitration experience is invaluable to clients who may require representation in Court.
John was admitted as a Partner of Armstrongs in June 1993. In 1998 John became the partner in charge of the Litigation and Arbitration Department of the Firm, where he remains to date. In July 2010 John became the Managing Partner of Armstrongs Attorneys.
John specialises in all corporate commercial High Court and Court of Appeal litigation, Arbitrations and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. He has undertaken and conducted numerous trials and arbitrations, as lead Counsel, in all fields of commercial law particularly: construction and civil engineering, property disputes, shareholders’ disputes, medical law, civil aviation, insurance industry and general commercial litigation.
